Understanding the Trinity - What the Trinity is Not
When Christians talk about believing in one God in three Persons (the Trinity), we do NOT mean:
- 1 God in 3 Gods, or
- 3 Persons in 1 Person, or
- 3 Persons in 3 Gods, or
- 1 Person in 3 Gods
A biblical understanding sees God as one being in 3 forms. Christianity does not believe in 3 Gods, but is monotheistic. There is only one God.
