GOD'S PLAN

A New Heaven and a New Earth

1. A New Universe

At the end of the Millennial Kingdom, the physical universe as we know it will be replaced and those of us who choose God will spend it with Him for eternity.  Here is what the Word of God says specifically about this topic.

The Existing World will be remembered no more.  Isaiah 65:17 (KJV), makes this clear. “For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.” Once the 1000-year period of rest on the earth as we know it ends, we will be in a new world, a new universe and will have no memory of this existence.

In Isaiah 66:22 (KJV), it says, “For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain.”  With this we can see that although we will have no memory of this world, we as individuals will remain.

In 2 Peter 3:13 (KJV), Peter tells us, ”Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.”  We know this will be a world that God desired for ours, but as creatures of free will, we had the opportunity to sin.  With the new world, we have already gone through the life of sin and chosen God.  All of the people existing with God in the new world will be righteous and have full access to God.

2. The Way It Was Meant to Be

[Rev 21:1-5 KJV] 1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. 2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. 4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. 5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.

There will be no death, no sorrow, no pain, no crying.  Sadness is a thing of the past.  God will live with us for all eternity. This is what God wanted for us all along.

3. Summary

In the end, this world will be forgotten.  Those who choose God will spend eternity with God in a new world and new heavens, or as we like to think in a perfect “Heaven”.  It is actually a new physical universe, per the scriptures.  If there is no memory of this world, doesn’t that help shine a light on the fact that this world is here to simply teach us to love God and love others and then give us a chance to choose.  It is entirely up to us what we choose, and God will respect our choice.

Do you want to spend eternity in Heaven, or in the lake of fire?  If you like the idea of Heaven, then learn in THIS school of life to choose God and not your own selfish, worldly desires.
