He the Has an Ear, Hear What the Spirit Says to the Churches
The placement of this statement prior to the Promise to the Overcomer is similar to the 1st and 3rd churches, but differs from the last four. In the first three churches, it is before the Promise to the Overcomer. In the last four it is after.
A possibility for this difference is that the first 3 churches are no longer around today and the last four are. Just something to consider!
The Promise to the Overcomer
“11b He that overcometh shall not be hurt by the second death” (Rev 2:11)
“Second death”: Rev 20:6; cf. Jude 12, “twice dead.” Born once, die twice. Born twice, die once!
